The Online Writing Lab (OWL) was conceived and developed as part of the project “STARFISH: Shaping the Digital Transformation of Higher Education – from knowledge islands to a connected teaching and learning ecosystem” (2021–2025). After the project ends, it will continue to be developed and managed by the Writing Center at TH Nürnberg weiterentwickelt und betreut. The Writing Center is part of LeKo – the Teaching and Learning Unit at TH Nürnberg.

The project was funded by the Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre (Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education), a trust foundation under the sponsorship of Toepfer Foundation gGmbH, under the reference FBM2020-EA-270.
